CERT: Community Emergency Response Teams

Currently administered by the El Cerrito Fire Department, the Committee works with the CERT program. Battalion Fire Chief Dave Gibson, CERT coordinator, is our Committee liaison. This critically important program assists the citizens of El Cerrito and Kensington to be self-sufficient in the event of a disaster. Residents learn disaster skills that, as members of a trained team, empower them to act independently. These life skills can be used in their neighborhoods and/or with the communities' emergency services.

It's an excellent opportunity for people involved in Neighborhood Watch to expand their awareness and take CERT training.
