National Night Out Tuesday August 4, 2009 Join in America's Night Out Against Crime! Help organize your neighborhood. Hold a porch light vigil, block party, BBQ, ice cream social...any event that helps get you and your neighbors together. The El Cerrito Crime Prevention Committee and The City of El Cerrito are here to help you celebrate this night and develop better police-community partnerships in the fight against crime and drugs. If you are interested in organizing a neighborhood event, sign up now! Come to a Community Meeting in July (dates TBD). If you are an El Cerrito resident and would like to attend a National Night Out event, talk to your neighbors and find out if an event is already organized in your area. Or contact the Crime Prevention Committee if you have more questions. El Cerrito Receives National Recognition For the fifth year in a row (2004-2008), the National Association of Town Watch has awarded El Cerrito a National Award for outstanding participation. In last year's event, 15,449 communities representing all 50 states held National Night Out events. Congratulations to all the El Cerrito residents, volunteers, and city staff who made this possible!
